Spring changes us, makes us dream, projects us, with lightness and optimism, towards a dimension of life that is more fun and youthful, where thoughts become less heavy and  the desire to live is more powerful than ever.
The red wines that accompany our toasts,  our dinners and our moments of negligible (?) happiness are not the same as those of winter.

If in winter reds we were looking for comfort, warmth and intensity, the reds for spring, which already speak of summer, are fresh, lively, young wines in which the exuberance of alcohol is less present and the taste dynamics more lively.
In the winter nights we were looking for wines that would stay with us as long as possible, in spring we  are looking for reds that flow cheerfully through the palate, served fresh, like the  evenings they accompany, wines that we can drink a second glass of as soon as possible.

The wines we have designed for spring evenings, and for the first lunches by the sea, are reds that are as young as the evenings of May, as fresh as the sea breeze, as charming as spring.

Frappato di Cos, a historic producer who has put frappato back on the Sicilian wine map, interpreting this great grape, typical of the Ragusa area, in a lighter guise, removing it from the dryness of tired and standardised wine-making, and giving frappato back its intriguing young soul, which loves temperatures of around ten degrees. A red wine for compulsive drinking, a fresh wine but one whose stylistic hallmark is its very smooth tannic texture and a finish that veers towards a lively sweetness. Try it with fish or vegetable-based appetizers, a Sicilian red wine for the warm season

Let’s move to another region but with the same mood, because in Veneto, Masi's Fresco offers the same kind of sensations, albeit from a different terroir. A blend of Corvina and Merlot, to be served chilled, a lively and cheerful red that is impossible to resist, floral, juicy and pleasant, a wine that is exalted on raw fish, vegetables and terraces, to drink with friends. A wine to be enjoyed late at night.

After Frappato and Corvina, we could not miss the king of the elegant red grape varieties, the grape that has made freshness and lightness its figures all over the world, but that  finds its happiest and most satisfying expression in Burgundy.
Moreau, a historic producer, gives us this Pinot Noir of great charm, able to combine elegance and freshness, giving us a remarkable Burgundy red, versatile, immediate and never banal, recommended for romantic dinners in the spring nights, better if under the stars

For dessert lovers, who can treat themselves to authentic taste sensations among variously flavoured dry biscuits and traditional Sicilian sweets according to their own inclinations and preferences; to accompany the sweet part of each menu, we introduce you some high quality Sicilian options: all different but all carrying the same warm island emotion

Nes, a great Pantelleria raisin wine, made from selected zibibbo grapes dried in the Pantelleria sun, which, thanks to the refinement in steel only, preserves intact the fragrances and flavours of the magic island, in the heart of the Mediterranean, a sweet wine, able to accompany all the traditional sweets without ever being cloying or redundant, a wine to breathe Pantelleria in its essence, while waiting to be physically in its beaches!

The last two are Marsala, a wine on which we have decided to bet, a wine that we are convinced is a real treasure, but that too often, many Sicilians have forgotten to value. Marsala is a world, the journey of a lifetime, among different types, refinements and blends. For this spring we have selected for you the other colour of Marsala: the ruby one.

For many years the Intorcia family has rediscovered the most authentic sensations of traditional marsala with its Heritage line. Rubino, based on Nero d'Avola, is a young, modern, fragrant and fresh marsala that is exalted when paired with dark chocolate and pastries, but can also give genuine emotions if tasted alone at the end of a meal. Intorcia's ruby is therefore the marsala for all those who want to discover the authentic sweet Sicilian wine in a modern, young version that always keeps its roots.

Vecchio Semperi is a marvellous wine in which history and the future coexist, where complexity and freshness always go hand in hand, and where the fascinating multiplicity of sensations never makes drinking tiring, but enhances the pleasure. Vecchio Semperi is a Marsala Perpetuo that can be drunk throughout a meal and is a fantastic accompaniment to the whole menu, from appetizer to dessert, in a versatile and  satisfying way. Try it with spaghetti with bottarga, for a simple and delicious combination. Marco de Bartoli's perpetual marsala is the right wine for all adventurous wine lovers who want to treat themselves to the true emotion of the most authentic marsala.
